HOW TO PURCHASE A PAINTING

Information for the purchaser and the artist.

THE PURCHASER can contact SCAG by email at scagsecretary@gmail.com Please include your name, address and phone number and the title of the painting.

THE ARTIST will get back to you and you can discuss with the artist whether you would like the painting packed and shipped to your address (with or without insurance) at your cost. Or, you would prefer to pick it up from the artist, or THE ARTIST is to deliver it to your address, in both cases saving you the shipping cost.

THE ARTIST will be responsible for securely packing the work and obtaining a shipping quote. Australia Post has Parcel Rates online for specific dimensions and weights. Couriers also have this. Australia Post is cheaper but may take longer than a courier.

THE PURCHASER will then pay an amount, which includes the price of the painting and the shipping cost and insurance (if either or both are applicable), by Direct Deposit to the SCAG Account, including their name for identification, or to the Treasurer at a meeting.

The normal commission, based on the painting price, will be retained by SCAG. The remainder will be paid to THE ARTIST when THE PURCHASER advises scagsecretary@gmail.com that they have received the work in good condition.

L I Z D O N L E Y

Liz is a painter, drawer, gardener, bushwalker, photographer, and art educator.

She has a drafting and architectural design background, which is evident in the detail she captures as she layers each painting or drawing composition. Liz has a strong spiritual connection to nature and the Australian bushland and invites the viewer to look closer at nature and contemplate its fragility. She has a deep concern for the land and expresses this through her paintings and environmental activism. Often, there is personal symbolic meaning in her choice of subject alluding to her Life’s path: Bushfire=regeneration, Red flowers and berries= lost loved one, Feathers=messages, Shells=vanishing childhood.

She extends her craft from en plein aire sketches, pencil and ink drawings and macro photographs, into acrylic or oil paintings, and lino prints.

Liz devotes her time to environmental issues, bush care volunteering, and also to bringing art appreciation to the community through her volunteer art guiding at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre in southern Sydney.

Liz is an award-winning artist who has exhibited in Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, in numerous group exhibitions, and has held a solo exhibition.

She is a member of Continuum Art Society, Oatley 101 Society of Artists, Southern Cross Art Group, Combined Arts Societies of Sydney, Friends of Hazelhurst, Royal Bushies Royal National Park, and a volunteer art guide with Sutherland Shire Council’s Hazelhurst Regional Gallery.
